Brighton Oak sits a few doors from its sister home, Brighton Elm. Residents who want extra company sometimes walk between them; staff support both houses on big-event days.
Fifteen residents share the house. The kitchen is the kitchen — meals are cooked there, smelled from the hall, and eaten at one long table. The living room is the living room. There is no "wing." There is no central nursing station. There is one front door, one porch, and the same caregivers most days.
