Personal care home pricing · Saskatoon
Let's talk about what it costs.
Our rates depend on which of our three homes, the level of care your family member needs, and they're reviewed once a year — so there's no single number to post here. What we won't do is make you chase it: call us, and the person who answers will give you the real figure for your family.

You may pay less than the sticker price.
Two government programs can lower what a family actually pays for a personal care home in Saskatchewan. Most families never find out they exist — so here is the short version.

The Personal Care Home Benefit
The Personal Care Home Benefit (PCHB) is monthly financial assistance from the Government of Saskatchewan for seniors living in a licensed personal care home. It tops a senior's monthly income up to a $3,500 threshold — the program pays the difference between $3,500 and your own income.
Who qualifies: Saskatchewan residents 65 or older who receive Old Age Security, live in a licensed personal care home, and have monthly income below the threshold.
Good news: all three Beacon House homes are licensed personal care homes — residents in our care can apply.

The Disability Tax Credit
The Disability Tax Credit (DTC) is a non-refundable federal tax credit for people with a lasting physical or mental impairment — including many seniors living with dementia or significant care needs. It reduces income tax and can often be transferred to a family member. A portion of personal care home fees may also be claimed as a medical expense.
How to apply: CRA Form T2201, certified by a medical practitioner.
We can help: at year end, Beacon House can provide a letter breaking out the attendant-care portion of your fees for your tax return.
We made you a guide.

Our pricing promise
Call us. We'll tell you the price on the first call.
No three-meeting brochure dance. No "let me have someone get back to you." When you ring our number, the person who answers can tell you the rate for your family member's care level, and what's currently available across our three homes. Then we'll book a visit — at your pace, no pressure.
What affects cost.
Three things determine the monthly rate at any Beacon House home:
- Care level. Everyday support, memory care, or palliative care.
- Room. Private vs. shared (we don't run wards, but couples sharing is offered).
- One-time set-up. An assessment fee covers the intake visit, care-plan drafting, and the first 30 days of medication reconciliation.
Things that don't change your monthly rate, ever:
- How often your family visits.
- Whether you join us for the occasional dinner.
- Whether you bring your pet by, with notice.
- Whether you ask hard questions.
